Well, that went better than expected

So, I actually did something I have always wanted to do. Combine art + literature + theater. I think I'm wandering into some new and unproven territory here. But you know....it actually worked.
I was not sure it would. But sometimes things just snap into place. I dove into the deep end by accepting a gracious offer to do it at the Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I committed to reading three stories from 'The Anicurio Collection', my new coffee-table book, followed by a signing—just a one-hour slot. I wasn't sure how it would go. Would people show up? Would they enjoy it? Well, I have to humbly say yes, and yes.
I wanted to deliver it in a fun, friendly, and unique manner. Over-the-top dramatics, silly props, and a few, hopefully enlightening, side comments about Victorian society. The audience was wonderful. Warm and receptive, encouraging and cheerful. It was such a joy.
The gallery ran out of chairs, so a few had to stand. (sorry about that), But the gallery instantly invited me back for a second show around Christmas time. Sadly, I won't be able to make that. But I think I could get used to doing these. I need to explore other opportunities to bring my little show on the road.
