Reflections

The year is 1907.
On those precious and fleeting summer days in the idyllic English county of Warwickshire, there is perhaps nothing more serene and delightful than basking in the warm glow of a Sunday afternoon. If you were to venture down to the banks of the River Avon on such a day, you might catch a glimpse of a small and unassuming figure sitting quietly and contemplatively amid the lush greenery.

This is Linda Rachel Davidson, who comes prepared with her only fishing rod, a packed lunch, and a favorite book. She settles comfortably on the soft grass, gazing at the river's gentle flow and losing herself in thought.

Sitting by the bank of the river, she gazes intently at the clear and sparkling water as it flows gently downstream, creating a soothing, bubbling symphony of soft murmurs. The cool breeze gently ruffles her feathers. She becomes lost in deep thought, her mind wandering to the far-off places she has been, unfinished random conversations, opportunities, some seized and some missed. People she knew, whose faces are now frozen in time within her memory, will always be young. The river an endless shimmering mirror of her thoughts.

She stares into her reflection as she, in turn, gazes into her life.

Illustrated in the style of a vintage Edwardian or Victorian photograph. This image is part of my 'Anicurio' collection. Each original illustration is carefully hand drawn in pencil. Once finished, I hand-aged them and treated them with various dye methods to resemble an old dusty antique photograph. I want this series to suggest something that was rediscovered by you. An inherited artifact from a mysterious benefactor? Or perhaps revealed in a long abandoned attic, lying at the bottom of a chest. Buried beneath old dusty clothes and fading handwritten notes.
